Pause, cancel or end a contract

3 min read·Updated July 2026

A contract is active, paused, cancelled or expired. You control the first three; the last one happens on its own.

Pausing

Pause a membership for travel or an injury and two things stop: the entitlements no longer cover new bookings, and no invoices are raised while it sleeps. Resume brings both back. Credits and dates stay exactly as they were, which also means pausing doesn’t stretch the contract: a fixed-term contract still ends on its day.

Cancelling

Cancelling ends the deal now: entitlements stop covering bookings and future invoices stop. Nothing is deleted; the contract and its history stay on the client’s page.

Ending on time

A contract with an end date expires by itself once the date passes; fixed-term plans set that date at sale. Expiry is the natural ending: access stops, history stays.

Good to know
None of these transitions touch seats that are already booked. If a paused or cancelled member shouldn’t keep their upcoming bookings, cancel those from the calendar; a staff cancellation always returns the credit.
